Welcome to Mountain Grove Cemetery
One of New England’s most scenic cemeteries, Mountain Grove is beautifully landscaped with floral and shrubbery displays, ornamental trees and picturesque lily pond that bring new beauty with each season. Closely associated with Connecticut families who have lived in Fairfield County, it is the final resting place of P.T. Barnum, Charles Stratton (Tom Thumb), Fanny Crosby, the blind hymn singer, Daniel Nash Morgan, former Treasurer of the United States, and over 40,000 people of all faiths and from all walks of life.
Not operated for profit, Mountain Grove is a mutual Association, owned exclusively by all its lot holders and servicing all faiths. Established in 1849, Mountain Grove has continually invested in additions and improvements to the property. The result has been an ever-increasing financial strength and accelerated development of the natural beauties of the landscape.
